Indie AI Labs ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Make This Tonight mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email address as provided by the authentication provider. We do not receive or store your password.

User-Generated Content

We store the recipes you import, meal plans you create, grocery lists you generate, and cookbook collections you organize. This data is necessary to provide the core functionality of the App.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve the user experience. This includes information such as which features are used, session duration, and app performance metrics. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools that do not track individual users across apps or websites.

Device Information

We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for the purposes of debugging, compatibility, and improving App performance.

Photos and Camera

If you choose to import a recipe by taking a photo of a cookbook page, we access your device camera or photo library only when you initiate this action. Photos are processed to extract recipe information and are not stored on our servers beyond the processing period.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service: To operate the App, sync your data across devices, and deliver core features like recipe import, meal planning, and grocery list generation.
  • Improve the App: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features.
  • Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Communications: To send you important service-related notifications. We will not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We use secure authentication methods and follow best practices for data protection.

While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

  • Supabase: Database and backend infrastructure for storing your recipes, meal plans, and account data.
  • Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management for handling in-app purchases and Pro subscriptions.
  • Apple / Google: Authentication services for secure sign-in.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential data collection.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
